We are delighted to announce that Belgrave Neighbourhood Co-operative Housing Association (BNCHA) has been recognised at the Housing Innovation Awards for our commitment to tenant-led transformation and community empowerment.
Just a few years ago, BNCHA was facing significant challenges, with poor governance, neglected repairs, and low tenant satisfaction. In response, we took bold action, prioritising transparency, community engagement, and resident wellbeing. By fostering a culture of accountability and inclusivity, we introduced initiatives such as:
• The Belgrave Community Food Hub, which provides access to affordable food, employment support, and financial advice.
• EKTA sessions, bringing tenants together through creative and wellbeing-focused activities.
• The Community Garden Project, a space where members can grow food, connect, and support each other.
Our tenant-led approach has restored faith in BNCHA, making it more than just a housing provider – it’s a thriving, supportive community. Winning this award is a testament to the dedication of our tenant members, volunteers, and team, who have worked tirelessly to transform our co-op into a national example of best practice in housing and community engagement.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey… we share this success with you!
