When you build a community with enough love, somewhere along the way it becomes family.

On 25 September, BNCHA brought together tenant members, residents, staff, volunteers, partners and distinguished guests at The Platinum Suite to celebrate our 50th anniversary, AGM and Good Neighbour Awards.

This milestone also marked our first AGM since becoming independently managed, making it a particularly meaningful occasion to reflect on our journey and look ahead to the future.

Above all, it was a celebration of the people who make BNCHA what it is.

Throughout the evening, old friends reconnected, new friendships formed and people joining us for the first time received a warm welcome. Wonderful food, entertainment and plenty of dancing added to the occasion, while our Good Neighbour Awards celebrated the kindness and contributions that make our community special.

For 50 years, BNCHA has provided homes. Around those homes, something much bigger has grown: a community rooted in friendship, respect, care and belonging. That spirit was felt throughout the evening, giving our anniversary the warmth of a family celebration.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Lord Mayor of Leicester, Blase Lambert from the Confederation of Co-operative Housing, and Nic Bliss for their thoughtful words and for sharing this milestone with us.

Thank you also to Ali and the team at The Platinum Suite, and to Atul Lakhani and everyone at Sanjay Foods, for their hospitality and wonderful food.

Our thanks go to our Committee, staff and volunteers for their hard work behind the scenes, and to our sponsors and partners for supporting the celebration.

To every tenant member, resident, friend and guest who joined us: you helped make this an evening to remember.

As we look towards BNCHA’s next chapter, we carry forward the same commitment to homes, people and community that has brought us this far.

50 years of homes. 50 years of community. 50 years of belonging.

Growing Stronger Together.
